Sect
Whether a chart is a day or night chart, and which planets that favours.
A chart is diurnal when the Sun is above the horizon and nocturnal when it is below. The Sun, Jupiter and Saturn belong to the day sect; the Moon, Venus and Mars to the night sect. Mercury is diurnal when it rises before the Sun and nocturnal when it rises after it.
Planets of the chart’s own sect act more constructively. The benefic of the sect (Jupiter by day, Venus by night) is the most helpful planet in the chart, and the malefic out of sect (Mars by day, Saturn by night) is the most difficult.
