New: the bench, lived in
Come on in, it’s messy
The Lab is my working bench: half-done things, tests and whatever I’m up to today. Everything sits in one grid, in the shape it was made.
Right now
What I’m actually doing: a thought, a selfie, a voice note, an emote. The lamp is lit when I’ve been around in the last few hours.
Throw a react
Tap the little ❦ on anything to send a react. It floats up for everyone looking, with your face: a tiny planet if you’re a visitor, a sealed disc if you’re a member.
Too much? Switch it off
Floating reacts can be turned off any time. On a phone it’s in the bar at the bottom, next to Filter and Right now.
Members-only bits
Some things are sealed for the Garden. You see a frosted glimpse; peek inside if your circle opens it.
Right now
What Hugh is actually doing
Little live posts from my phone: thoughts, selfies, voice notes and emotes. Tap a #tag to see only the coffee, or only the kerning.
From the rest of my world
Some moments come from my other places: a chart shared on Uranika, a button on Grimoiria, my newest Bluesky, Threads or Instagram posts. I let each one through by hand.
For Hugh: post from your phone
Open your desk, say what you’re up to, add an emote or a selfie, and it’s live.
Margin scribbles
Scribble in the margin
Like the old manuscripts: members of the Garden can leave a note beside any leaf. A thought, a question, a memory it stirs.
Open a leaf, find its margin
Tap any leaf to open it. Under the story you’ll find its Margin notes, signed with a name and circle.
Read before it shows
Every note waits for Hugh, who reads it first. Until then only you see yours, marked Waiting for Hugh.
